Frequently Asked Questions

Got a question about your poster? You're in the right place. If you don't see your answer below, email us anytime at service@customcarpostershop.com.

Custom Prints & Commissions

Can you make a custom poster of my own car?

Absolutely. Send us a photo of your car by email or through our contact form, and we'll come back with a no-obligation quote. See how it works on our Custom Art Request page, and browse past commissions in the Custom Prints Gallery.

How does the custom design process work?

Once we receive your photos, we'll talk through your vision: which details to include or leave out, and which style suits your car, from minimalist to vintage or an ownership certificate showing your car's specifications. We'll give you a clear cost for the design, then create renders and fine-tune the colours and details based on your feedback before your final print is made.

Can I request changes or revisions to my design?

Yes. We create multiple renders and refine them with your feedback, because we want you thrilled with the result.

How much does a custom poster cost, and how long does it take?

Every commission is different, so we quote each one individually after seeing your car and discussing the design. Typical design turnaround time is usually 24 to 48 hours before printing.

Can you change the colour of an existing design, or add my car's details to it?

Many of our remastered vintage ads already come in several colourways, which you can choose on the product page. For other edits, such as matching your car's paint colour or adding a race number, get in touch through our Custom Art Request page and we'll let you know what's possible.

Do custom posters make good gifts?

They're one of our most popular gifts for car lovers. Just send us a photo of the car you have in mind. If you have a date to hit, mention it when you contact us so we can plan around it.

Sizes, Materials & Framing

What sizes are available?

Sizes vary by design. Most prints come in sizes from 8 x 10 in (20 x 25 cm) up to 24 x 36 in (60 x 90 cm), with a 16 x 24 in (40 x 60 cm) size offered for European orders. You'll find the available sizes, and landscape or portrait formats where offered, on each product page.

What paper are your posters printed on?

All of our paper prints have a luxurious textured satin and lustre finish. Every poster is printed on thick, premium 200+ gsm paper, so it feels substantial in hand and looks sharp on your wall. Exact paper specs may vary slightly depending on the region where your print is produced.

What does the "Aluminium" option mean?

Some designs offer a 16 x 20 in Aluminium option: your artwork printed on a metal panel instead of paper. It has a glossy finish and comes with mounting hardware, ready for installation.

Are posters framed?

Standard prints are sold without a frame or mat. On many designs you can choose a framed 24 x 36 in (60 x 90 cm) option. We also offer framing options; please reach out to us for more information. Prefer to frame it yourself? Read our guide, How to Frame Your Car Poster Like a Pro.

Shipping & Delivery

Where do you ship, and how much does it cost?

We ship worldwide, and all orders include free shipping. We send your print file to a partner print lab in or close to your destination country, so your order ships domestically with a tracked service. Check our Shipping Policy for the full list of countries we serve.

Will I pay import duties or taxes?

No. Because your poster is printed in your destination country, it ships as a domestic order with no import duties, tariffs or VAT charges on delivery.

How long will my order take?

Please allow 1 to 2 days for processing (we process orders every day, weekends included). Printing usually takes 3 to 5 business days, and you can expect an email with your tracking number within 5 to 6 business days. Delivery time after that depends on your location. On a tight deadline? Ask us about local pickup from a partner print lab near you. See our Shipping Policy for details.

Orders, Returns & Care

What is your return policy?

You can request a return within 30 days of receiving your item, as long as it's unused, in its original condition and packaging (including the shipping tube), with proof of purchase. Email us to start a return, since items sent back without a request can't be accepted. Custom and personalized items, sale items and gift cards can't be returned. Please see our Refund Policy for full details, including the 14-day cooling-off period for EU orders.

What if my poster arrives damaged or has a defect?

Please inspect your order when it arrives. If anything is damaged, defective or wrong, email service@customcarpostershop.com right away with your order number and a photo of the item and its packaging. In most cases we can arrange a reprint, and we'll work with you to make it right. Replacement cannot be issued for any problems not reported within 30 days of receiving your order.

How should I care for my poster?

A little care keeps your print looking showroom-fresh for years:

  • Let it settle first. If your poster arrives cold or from a humid or dry place, leave it in its tube indoors for a few hours so it can adjust to the room before you unroll it.
  • Unroll gently. Lay it face up on a clean, flat surface, place a sheet of clean paper over it, and weigh it down evenly with books for a day or two. You can also roll it very gently against the curl, but never force it, iron it or use heat or steam.
  • Handle with care. Use clean, dry hands (or cotton gloves) and hold the print by its edges, supporting large prints with both hands so they don't crease.
  • Keep it out of the sun. UV light fades colours over time, so avoid direct sunlight. If you frame your print, choose UV-filtering glass or acrylic.
  • Avoid humidity and heat. Steer clear of bathrooms, kitchens and spots above radiators, heating vents or fireplaces. A stable room temperature is best.
  • Frame for longevity. Display your print behind glass or acrylic, with an acid-free mat or spacers so the print never touches the glazing.
  • No tape on the print. Never apply tape or glue directly to the poster. Use photo corners or archival hinges instead.
  • Dust gently. Wipe the frame glazing with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. If you need a cleaner, spray it onto the cloth, never onto the glass.
  • Aluminium prints: wipe with a soft, dry microfibre cloth, or one barely dampened with water for fingerprints, then dry it. Avoid paper towels, abrasive pads, solvents and harsh chemicals, and protect the edges and corners from knocks, since dents in aluminium are permanent.
