The Custom Silver Ferrari Testarossa Wall Art
Unveiled at the 1984 Paris Motor Show, the Ferrari Testarossa defined the excess of its decade. Its Pininfarina body, with those long side strakes feeding air to the rear radiators, was wider than almost anything else on the road, and behind the cabin sat a 4.9-litre flat-twelve whose red-painted cam covers gave the car its name. Few shapes are more instantly recognizable on a wall.
This commission came from the new owner of a 1988 Testarossa finished in silver, a refreshing departure from the expected Rosso Corsa. The request was simple: a print of his car, in its own colour.

The detail that makes this car is the interior. Red seats against silver paint is a combination that rewards a close look, so it had to carry through to the illustration. We began with our red Testarossa artwork as the base, then reworked the paint, the wheels and the seat colour to match.

The owner was also converting the car to full European specification, so the print followed suit, with the side reflectors removed for a cleaner flank.

The finishing touch was the car's own VIN, set into the design so the print belongs to one Testarossa and no other.
